60 birthday card

For a dear friend turning 60. I printed the centre of the card onto card stock to personalise it. This was cut out and layered onto a scalloped cut out, and then centred on a rosette made of embossed copper coloured paper. T used Martha Stewart's scalloped punch and then a score board to score in each valley and again at the point of the scallop. the paper lace was again done using the same punch and copper paper.

birthday time again

After not having had time to play with my paper for quite some time, I devoted a few days to card making and made some cards.

Phew..that should last me through the mad month of birthdays in September!

Gold and Cream Wedding Card

Isn't it always the way? I've been waiting for ages for a wedding so I can make a nice card and it happens right when I have my craft room all packed up ready to move house!

Luckily I managed to find a box with a few left over bits and pieces and have come up with this card entirely from scrap.

The concertina heart was a left over from my Christmas cards and the rest were bits and pieces left over from other cards. The embossed paper was a piece from a wedding card I made a few years back and although it's not clear, the gold piece of paper is also lightly embossed with a satin finish...also a scrap I found in the same box as the cream embossed paper. The remaining embellishments were scraped together from a small box of odds and ends in the same box - a couple of leafy twigs, a cream rose, a jewelled pin I had made as an experiment a while back and a couple of bread dough embellishments that were already sprayed gold. Not hugely imaginative, but it ended up looking somewhat decent in the end.

It'll still be a while before we move so it may be a few months before I'm able to keep my blog up to date.

Flannel Flowers and wattle

This card was coloured using Prismacolour pencils and Zest-it and the olive filligree layer is a Spellbinders design. Again, I found it much easier to control prismacolours than using copic pens. I think that copics are really not for me as I don't seem to be able to control the application of colour for the effects I want. Other seem to manage well with copics but art is a very personal thing and what technique works for one doesn't always work well for another.  I've now purchased a small device that will change them to an airbrush so the pens don't go to waste, but I do wish I'd discovered Prismacolours and Zest it before I'd invested in the pens!
